Personnel Development Leader – Description
General:
This role has responsibility to work with the Production Area Manager to optimize throughput in the Department while striving to improve productivity and reducing costs by supporting the following goals:
Achieve a safety and environmental incident free workplace
Achieve/maintain compliance with regard to organizational, state, and federal regulatory standards (commercial, environmental/health/safety, etc,)
Develop employees utilizing the MBM Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance
 
Responsibilities/Expectations:
Ensure consistency in the operation from shift to shift by promoting a disciplined workplace in a fair and consistent manner
Ensure knowledge sharing is taking place and drive to break down artificial boundaries
Eliminate non-value added work through creative destruction
Provide support in the areas of asset reliability, cost optimization, quality capability, productivity and strategic capital planning and execution
Ensure that the organizational structure, succession plans and individual roles, responsibilities and expectations are aligned with mill and organizational tactical and strategic goals and maximize value for the company
Develop employees in their capability to progress to higher value contributing roles
Develop and maintain training and educational resource systems

Strong communication, presentation, planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize

Basic Qualifications:
Leadership/ operational experience in a manufacturing facility
Experience as a Change Agent for operation improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field of study
Minimum of 5 years of paper industry experience
Project management experience
Prior supervision or leadership experience
